Is there any image of the currently used PlanetLab virtual machines, along
with other files needed to start such a virtual machine outside of
PlanetLab?

Is such an image maybe available within the PlanetLab node installation CD,
or can it maybe be picked up from a PlanetLab node (by the admin of that
PlanetLab node)?
