Subject: need kexec in /sbin on the bootcd
For the PlanetLab/Rocks cluster we are using NFS to mount the bootcd
/usr partition. This turns out to be a problem when the bootmanager
uses kexec to chain boot into the production kernel, as it is in
/usr/sbin. Apparently the network disappears before kexec can cleanly
do its job.
Marco has fixed this problem by a) statically compiling kexec, and b)
having his version of the boot pl*init scripts copy it to /sbin. Marco,
please detail your changes and provide a patch that we can then merge
into the various affected cvs repositories.
Marc
