Hi all
Following up on this configuration stuff, I've contributed a python
script for easying the process, named plc-config-tty. The general idea
is to take advantage of the ability we have to store local changes from
the defaults, and only these, in separate xml files located under the
configs/ subdir.
This script now ships with both rpms, and I've documented its usage in a
revised version of the user doc, that I also reworked in an attempt to
make it clearer ; initial configuration as well as further updates
should now become straightforward.
The former method based on text-editing is still documented as an
alternative. Please note however that, at this stage at least, both
methods do not very well co-exist, as plc-config-tty *does not* expect
your local changes to be stored in plc_config.xml, that in this model is
considered a cache-only storage.
Your feedback is welcome and appreciated - Thierry
