Just got done with the first iteration of the myplc-devel package. It  
rebuilt all of PlanetLab in about an hour and weighs in at 14 GB  
base, 20 GB after building.

The bad news is that this is a lot larger than I expected. The good  
news is that in the process of figuring out what all the dependencies  
actually were, I made a few changes. The build environment now only  
requires packages from Fedora Core 4 base and extras; no third party  
packages, tools, or configuration are required anymore.

At this point, I think it would be more sensible to simply provide  
you guys with a kickstart script that installed the appropriate  
packages from a vanilla FC4 DVD. Since by the time you finished  
downloading a prebuilt chrooted build environment from Princeton, you  
probably could have rebuilt it locally, as well as all of PlanetLab  
inside of it.
