FYI, this appears to be caused by SELinux. On the host system, edit the
/etc/selinux/config file and set SELINUX=disabled. Then, restart your machine.

Thierry documented this incompatibility a while ago. If any of you know the
blessing you're supposed to invoke before running an SELinux-protected program,
let me know and I'll add it to the host initialization script.
