[Planetlab-devel] libproper on V4 nodes

Hi,
The stork team has been using libproper.so for a while now and
have it packaged in one of our install rpms. However now on the new
V4 nodes when you try to install our rpm you get a message saying
that there is an unmet dependency (libcurl.so.2):

[arizona_stork2 at planetlab-1 do_install]$ sudo rpm -i stork-
nest-2.0b-20.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
         libcurl.so.2 is needed by stork-nest-2.0b-20.i386

I believe this failed dependency is happening because we include the
libproper.so.0 lib in our install rpm which depends on libcurl.so.2.
However on the new nodes only /usr/lib/libcurl.so.3 is present so I
think that it is necessary to rebuild libproper on a FC4 machine.

I have checked out proper from the Planetlab CVS repository but am
having problems getting it to build. I was wondering if someone could
help me with the build process or provide us with a newer version of
proper that is build on FC4. Any other suggestions on solving this
problem are also welcome.

Thank you,
