Faiyaz,

That looks like a nice idea.  The current mail code I've inherited is a 
little hairy.  As well, it sounds like a nice approach to keep user 
notification of various events encapsulated within internal mechanisms.

However, I understand the aliases to be an interface between PL and the 
outside world.  If by 'obsolete' you mean that they will go away, what do 
you see replacing the interface between PL and third parties?
