Hello everyone,

For a while we have been considering migrating to CentOS, as its a
more stable base than Fedora. Thierry P. @ INRIA has already done a
bunch of porting and testing, but we'd need to test further. The
short term plan is to migrate to RHEL/CentOS 5.x (x>=2), but use our
kernel (2.6.22) and RPM packages to run MyPLC and the node software.
The intent is to converge with RHEL/CentOS 6.x, which apparently will
be released Q1 2010. The CentOS 6.x release will likely be based off
of F10 with a 2.6.27 based kernel, which has already been released.
In terms of converging, we (Herbert P. via INRIA) are also going to
migrate our kernel changes to 2.6.27+.

One question is whether we should have one more Fedora-based release
of our software (e.g., F10), or whether we just focus on migrating to
CentOS 5.x for '09 and then make the switch to CentOS 6.x in '10.
Any comments / thoughts?

Marc
