I'm not sure I understand the concern
You can use the API rather than the web UI from any place
When not running from the myplc chroot (that's now obsolete, you  
should use vservers and myplc-native, but that's all the same as far  
as your current concern goes), you just need to build an auth struct  
with username/authmethod/password info and pass this as the first arg  
to all your api calls
