We have a different boot process. The nodes use PXE boot to request their boot 
files, i.e. a generic boot image for all nodes and a custom overlay image 
containing only the plnode.txt.
So we need the plnode.txt. Extracting it from a iso file is a bit complicated 
compared with simply downloading it.
Is it possible to restore the old options?
