Just another contribution for those maintaining widely deployed services.

I generally do my breakdown for IBP installations in the following manner 
(based on the  https://www.planet-lab.org/db/nodes/production_hosts.php 
list) -

TOTAL NODES:    349
FAILED SSH:           31        (could not detect SSH service)
FAILED LOGIN:        23 (overloaded machine, offensive key, permission 
denied, etc...there's even a couple that will ask for a pw)
FAILED IBP:            48       (could not detect IBP depot)
IBP OK:                 255     (IBP up and running)

This includes the I2 nodes. The reason the numbers add up to more than 349 
is because IBP somehow survived on nodes that I've lost login access to :)

I really appreciate Sean, Neal, and Mic sharing their info. It helps guide 
expectations.
