my-plc is overkill, you just want a dev box. An alternative to building
your own devbox is to use the PLAB-DEVBOX disk image available in
Emulab: just apply for an Emulab account, and then you can trivially get
a clean devbox whenever you want one (or more than one). There are some

Note, though, that since most PlanetLab nodes are still FC2, our disk
image is too. So this will not solve your version problems yet. But, as
more PlanetLab nodes start running FC4, we'll update our image.
