How difficult would it be for you to ask network admins to make DNS  
changes to forward requests for anything like  
*.planetlab1.inf.ethz.ch to planetlab1.inf.ethz.ch, and indeed do  
this for all of the nodes at your site?

You are funny.  You belong to the pool of technical contacts who are  
very responsive and so I doubt that you'd get in trouble with Mothy.
