[Planetlab-users] help rebooting machines

Dear Users:

As you are probably aware, we have recently rolled out a new
version of the PlanetLab software. To make a long story short,
there are ~200 nodes down right now that do not support remote
reboot. Our standard practice of contacting the local technical
support person to reboot a site's nodes often takes time to have
a noticeable effect.

I'd like to appeal to users to simply power cycle your PlanetLab
nodes if they are currently down. An easy way to determine if
your nodes are on-line is to run the following script -- if you don't
see your site's nodes listed, they are likely down:

curl -s "http://summer.cs.princeton.edu/status/tabulator.cgi?table=table_nodeviewshort&format=nameonly&select='resptime%20%3E%200'"
| grep princeton.edu

(Substitute your site's name for "princeton.edu".)

Thanks,
Larry
