Hi Everyone,

I am trying to carry out traceroute from planetlab by using Scamper ().

I was able to compile and install scamper. But it seems the tool does not work for traceroute.

On planetlab02.tkn.tu-berlin.de:

[ucla_dnsre at planetlab02 ~]$ sudo scamper -i 198.41.0.4
traceroute from 130.149.49.137 to 198.41.0.4
 1 *
 2 *
 3 *
 4 *
 5 *

However, ping command in scamper does work.

[ucla_dnsre at planetlab02 ~]$ sudo scamper -c "ping" -i 198.41.0.4
ping 130.149.49.137 to 198.41.0.4: 84 byte packets
84 bytes from 198.41.0.4, seq=0 ttl=52 time=21.323 ms
84 bytes from 198.41.0.4, seq=1 ttl=52 time=18.392 ms
84 bytes from 198.41.0.4, seq=2 ttl=52 time=18.235 ms
84 bytes from 198.41.0.4, seq=3 ttl=52 time=18.417 ms
--- 198.41.0.4 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 2543155.428/3010110.984/2931016.760/3084406.104 ms

Does anyone use scamper on PlanetLab. Please help. Thank you.

Sincerely,
